KYC Policy

Know Your Customer (KYC) verification is a fundamental requirement for all players at 1Win. This process helps us comply with international anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, protect minors from accessing gambling services, safeguard your account from unauthorized use, and meet the obligations set out in our Curaçao eGaming License 8048/JAZ2018-040. KYC verification is not an accusation—it is a standard industry practice that protects both you and the operator.

When KYC Verification Is Required

You may be asked to provide verification documents at several points during your relationship with 1Win. These triggers include account registration (particularly if you are a new player), your first withdrawal request, when your account activity exceeds certain thresholds, changes to your registered payment method, or when our compliance team identifies risk indicators that warrant additional scrutiny. In some cases, periodic re-verification may be requested to ensure your information remains current.

Identity Verification Documents

To verify your identity, you must submit a clear, legible scan or photograph of one of the following government-issued documents. The document must be valid (not expired) and show your full name, date of birth, and photograph where applicable.

Scans must be in colour, high resolution (at least 300 dpi), and show all relevant security features. Blurred, cropped, or partially obscured documents will be rejected and you will be asked to resubmit.

Proof of Address

You must provide a document that confirms your residential address. This document must have been issued within the last three months and clearly display your full name and address. Acceptable documents include:

If your name on the address document differs from your registered account name, you may be asked to provide additional documentation explaining the discrepancy (such as a marriage certificate or deed poll).

Payment Method Verification

To verify that you own and control the payment method used for deposits and withdrawals, you may be asked to provide proof of ownership. The type of document required depends on your payment method:

Source of Funds and Source of Wealth

If you make a large deposit or your account activity suggests a high volume of funds, 1Win may request information about the source of your funds (SoF) or source of wealth (SoW). This is a standard AML requirement and helps us ensure that all money flowing through the platform is legitimate. You may be asked to provide:

The specific documents required will depend on the amount deposited and the perceived risk level of your account. Our compliance team will contact you directly if additional information is needed.

Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)

Certain players may be subject to Enhanced Due Diligence, a more thorough verification process. This applies to players identified as Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), those with connections to high-risk jurisdictions, players with unusually large transaction volumes, or accounts flagged by our risk management systems. EDD may require additional documentation beyond standard KYC, including detailed source of wealth declarations, business ownership disclosures, and beneficial ownership information. If your account is selected for EDD, our compliance team will contact you with specific instructions.

Document Submission Process

All KYC documents must be submitted through your player account dashboard on unitednews.com.pk. Log in to your account, navigate to the 'Account Verification' or 'KYC' section, and upload your documents in the formats specified (typically PDF, JPG, or PNG). Do not email documents to general support addresses—use only the secure upload portal within your account.

Once you submit your documents, our compliance team will review them. Standard review times are 24 to 72 hours, though complex cases may take longer. You will receive an email notification when your verification is complete. If documents are rejected, you will be informed of the reason and given the opportunity to resubmit corrected versions.

Data Security and Privacy

All documents you submit are encrypted using 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption and stored securely on servers operated by 1Win N.V. and our payment processor, MFI Investments Limited (Cyprus, HE386738). Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or for legitimate AML and fraud prevention purposes. For full details on how your data is protected, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Consequences of Incomplete or Failed Verification

If you do not complete KYC verification when requested, your account will be subject to restrictions. Initially, you may be unable to withdraw funds or place new bets. If verification is not completed within a reasonable timeframe (typically 14 days from the initial request), your account may be suspended or closed. Any deposits in your account will be refunded to your original payment method in accordance with AML regulations, minus any applicable fees.

If verification reveals information that contradicts your account registration or raises compliance concerns, 1Win reserves the right to close your account and forfeit any remaining balance in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and applicable law.

Periodic Re-Verification

KYC verification is not a one-time process. Depending on your account activity, jurisdiction, and changes in regulatory requirements, you may be asked to re-verify your identity and address periodically. This is typically required every 12 to 24 months, or more frequently if your account profile changes significantly (such as a change of address or a substantial increase in betting activity). You will be notified in advance if re-verification is required.
